Six Pack Abs - Why Do People Fail?

Six pack abs are hard to get at the best of times. Sure there are those who naturally seem to have one. It might be their jobs or their recreation but either way, they are doing something. I must admit that they annoyed me. They didn't work-out or do any exercise, their body naturally equipped them.

Too bad it didn't work out for me. But I have since learned that being a victim does nothing. I can complain all I want but in the end, it does nothing to help me to get six pack abs.

If I want six pack abs, then I have to go out and get them.

Why do people want a six pack?

Six pack abs say to everyone around you that you are disciplined, strong, sexy, and that you go for what you want. Who wouldn't want to be known as a person like that?

Why do so many people not have a six pack?

Of course, not every single person in the world wants six pack abs, but I'm quite sure that a lot of them do. I must say that I quite enjoy mine and the effect it has on those around me. But why don't people have a six pack like me? I don't think it's because they don't want them - most people would have a six pack if they thought they could. I think that the single, greatest reason why people don't have a six pack is laziness.

Yep, you heard correctly. It's not diet, it's not lifestyle, (although all those things are important), it is their choice to not take action. Anyone can read a book and find out all sorts of exercises to get six pack abs, but in the end, unless they take action, they have nothing.

I have a quote in front of me saying, "A quitter never wins and a winner never quits". That is so very appropriate to six pack abs. If you are a quitter, you will never have a six pack. But guess who gets to choose whether you are a quitter? YOU!

So Why Do People Fail?

People fail because they give up. People fail because they blame someone else. Do you want to be someone who succeeds? Then go for it. Go out and take action. Taking action is the greatest tip anyone can ever give you, and providing you follow it, you can have anything you want.

If you would take responsibility for yourself, if you would stop blaming your flab on external variables, if you would say, "It is my choice and my fault if I am fat, unhealthy and ugly". Sorry to be rude, but it's the only way. Something has to move you to action. I want you to have what you want and I am trying to motivate you to take it. You are the only obstacle in the way of you have sexy six pack abs.

If you have decided to take action and responsibility for your life, I congratulate you. The next step is directions and I have them. If you have decided to take action and claim your six pack abs, please visit: http://www.hubreviews.info/abstruth.html for a killer workout.

Choosing The Best Pilates Abs Exercise DVD's For Your Lower Ab Workouts

There are hundreds of Pilates abs exercise DVD's out in the marketplace. How do you choose?

First, have you tried Pilates? Maybe you've seen Pilates abs exercise DVD's on the shelves of your favorite bookstore, or at your local DVD rental store. Whether you are trying to lose weight, or maintain your fitness during a pregnancy, you are sure to find some Pilates exercise DVD's for your next fitness workout.

The best Pilates abs exercise DVD's are the ones that are performed by a Pilates professional and offer a total body workout. Pilates is for the whole body! Most DVD’s of Pilates mat exercises will present that, but some focus on lower ab workouts. Others may concentrate on legs, arms or butt exercises.

Here are a few examples of Pilates exercise DVD's:

• Mari Winsor: Mari is a commercialized big seller and popular with celebrities. Her DVD's are traditionally based and move at a rapid pace. Her Winsor Pilates DVD's are geared to the established Pilates practitioner and not necessarily for a Pilates beginner. However, her style is easy going and her method of Pilates is more classical and calisthenic.

• Moira Stott Merrithew: Another huge seller. Moira’s DVD's are safe, slow and very well explained. Her pacing is generally slower than a more traditional approach. She has taken the Pilates method and applied current biomechanical knowledge, so you’re in good hands, though may need a cup of coffee to get through.

• Ana Caban: Ana has DVD's distributed through Gaiam. She’s likable and her exercises are easily understood. But I always feel like something is missing. The workouts never feel complete to me. She is knowledgeable and the most pleasant of any you’ll see in any of the Pilates abs exercise DVD's out there. They are a safe choice.

• Romana Kryzanowska: Romana is a legend who actually studied with Joseph Pilates. She teaches the only way she knows how. She does “what Joe taught me”. What you get is the closest thing to what was invented by Pilates himself. Her DVD's are not easy! Even the basic moves might be considered too tough for a Pilates beginner. But it’s pure and fun and in the end, it’s very refreshing!

Beware of Pilates abs exercise DVD's that offer workouts for body parts. Pilates DVD's of lower ab workouts and ab exercises are not complete thoughts. Pilates is a full body workout. Try a few different Pilates abs exercise DVD's. Or better yet, find a qualified instructor in your area and make an appointment.

Abs, Diet, Food and Nutrition

Most people think that doing thousands of sit ups and crunches will give them a perfect midsection. Unfortunately for most people, this won't work. To get a nice set of abs you have to work hard in the gym as well as in your own kitchen. You don't have to start working out on your kitchen counter but you do need to eat the right foods.

The reason that the midsection is such a big problem for so many is because this is where the majority of people store fat. To get your abs to show you need to get rid of this fat through diet and exercise. The simplest way to put it: you need to consume less calories than you burn so that your body uses your fat stores for energy.

One common misconception is that eating fat makes you fat. The truth is that eating too much of anything (fat, carbohydrates or protein) will make you fat. Fat is no different. You shouldn't totally avoid fats but you should reduce your intake of saturated and trans (bad) fats.

Sugar is a big concern if you're trying to eat for your abs. Sugar is digested very quickly and if you don't use all of those calories right away, (which you likely won't) all the extra calories will be converted and stored as fat.

Stay away from foods that are high in sugar such as candy, soda, sugary snacks and other junk foods. If you really want to eat these, do so in moderation. Don't eat the whole bag of cookies in one sitting.

In addition to sugar, you should also stay away from refined carbs. These include white bread, white rice and white pasta (or anything with white flour). Like sugar, these are digested quickly, and if not burned immediately, are stored as fat.

You shouldn't cut all carbs out of your diet. Whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta and brown rice are all digested slowly. These will release energy steadily throughout the day and give you more flexibility on when to burn the calories. Eat foods that are high in fiber, low in calories (fruits, vegetables, salads, whole wheat flour) to make you full for longer and keep your total calories down.

To get results in the shortest amount of time you need to put yourself on a good exercise regimen that will burn calories and build abdominal muscles. Diet alone won't give you the perfect set of abs.

3 Exercises for Sexy Six Pack Abs

Nothing else demonstrates fitness and attractiveness to the opposite sex as well a great looking stomach. So, it is no surprise that both guys and girls want sexy six pack abs. The only problem is, what's the healthiest and most effective way to achieve a six pack of abs?

The answer lies in a low body fat percentage. This is achieved most quickly through a healthy diet, strength training and aerobic exercise.

But to have a really great six pick, you will want a well developed midsection. So I have included 3 of the most effective abdominal exercises as recommended by the American Council on Exercise. By performing the following exercises consistently, week in and week out, you'll get that six pack fast.

Reverse Crunch

It might seem as if this exercise focuses only on the lower abs, but your abdominals are one long muscle, so you can't really separate the upper abs from the lower abs.

1. Lie down on the floor and place your hands on the floor or behind your head (avoid pulling on your neck).

2. Bring your knees in towards your chest until they reach about 90 degrees, with your feet crossed or together.

3. Contract your abs so that you curl your hips off the floor, reaching your legs up to the ceiling.

4. Lower and then repeat the exercise for 12-16 reps.

5. Although this is a small movement, try to use the abdominals to lift the hips instead of swinging the legs to create momentum.

Full Vertical Crunch

During a full vertical crunch, your abs are really worked by involving both your lower and upper body.

1. Lie down on your back and straighten your legs up to the ceiling.

2. Place your hands behind the head (remember, don't strain your neck) and contract your abs so that you lift your shoulder blades off the floor.

3. Then, press your heels towards the ceiling, in order to create a 'U' shape with your torso.

4. Lower and repeat the movement for 12-16 reps.

The Ab Rocker

The Ab Rocker exercise requires the Ab Rocker machine which can be found in most fitness clubs.

1. Sit down on the Ab Rocker and grip the bars with each hand.

2. Contract your abs and tilt forward, by using your abs instead of momentum from rocking back and forth.

3. Release and then repeat the movement for 1-3 sets of 12-16 repetitions.

4. Be sure to go slowly in order to reduce your momentum. Try to focus on your abs instead of pushing with your arms.

How to Get 6 Pack Abs Without Going to the Gym

You have always wanted to have 6 pack abs, but just didn't think that it was attainable. Well, one can have just that, one just needs to know how to get 6 pack abs without going to the gym. The gym was fine years ago and still is for those who have the time and the money. But the world is now in the 21st century and moves at a fast pace. Many of us just simply don't have the time. So here is a way to get your new abs, in the privacy of your own home.

To begin with, assign a small area of floor space as your own personal gym. Buy a yoga mat, or even easier, commandeer the living room rug and place it on the floor which from now on will be your personal gym at home.

Make sure the rug or mat is near your bed so you can use the edge of your bed to place your feet for ab crunches. By assigning a mat or rug like this, you create a mental reminder that will always sit there reminding you to do your 3 sets a day. If you have done them, seeing the mat or rug on the floor will give you good feelings and a sense of achievement. If you skipped them, the rug will be a nagging reminder that they still need doing.

Make sure to drink large amounts of water through the day and especially during the work out. Growing muscles and especially increasing the size of the abdominals requires lots of fluid. The anabolic effect is a process where nutrients and amino acids are assigned and travel to the muscles being rebuilt. If you are de-hydrated, the movement of those micro nutrients have a harder time being moved by the body. Message is clear...drink copious amounts of water every day. There are many other health benefits, like it flushes toxins out of your system more effectively.

Before any exercise, stretch your body. You can do this lying down or standing up, whichever is easier for you. Once you have stretched, lie down (if you are not already lying down) and bend your knees toward your chest. Did you drink some water before your stretched? Now place your hands behind your head and breathe in. While breathing out lift your head up until you feel a nice pull in the stomach muscles. Release and lie your head back down.

Repeat a set of 12. Stretch and drink some water. Repeat another set of 12 and stretch again. Then one more time. You are done. When you get up, get up slowly, so to not become dizzy.

Do these exercises every day, and once you have reached the desired effect of a tight lean six pack, to maintain healthy abs, perform these exercises three times a week.

If you would like to get a six pack in 23 days or less, buy The "Abs In 23 Days" training program. You can learn more about this award winning, abdominal pumping, fat stripping product by clicking HERE.
