Starting Your Own Abs Workout

There are a lot of different exercises to get a tight stomach; their difference is both in the form and in the equipment. Some need you to use a specific machine; others are very simple and just require you to use natural resistance. There are some exercises that works the whole body too, such as Pilates or Yoga exercises. However there are also some exercises that are very basic yet bring results to millions of people.

One of these is the traditional crunch. These are great exercises to work the rectus abdominus with less train than in the sit-ups. In the traditional crunch you just lie on your back and raise only the upper portion of your body (head, shoulders and upper back) to about 30 degrees. The key is let your stomach take control and avoid grabbing your head. Also the three parts must be aligned, you should not arch you upper portion of the body. For proper form you can browse the Internet and check Youtube, there are literally thousands of pics and videos available.

Besides the traditional crunch, you should also perform the side crunch to work on your transverse abdominal muscles and your obliques. This is the zone where the infamous "love handles" are located. The technique is the same a sin the crunch, only that your body is twisted to one side. Again, do it slowly and with total control to get the most out of this stomach exercise.

Along with these two basic exercises you should include other movements. The stomach has different muscles and working them as a whole will give you a much better definition and midsection toning. Also, if you feel that an exercise isn't working for you, don't worry. Try another, not all bodies respond the same way to the same set of exercises. Remember that there is a whole variety f abs exercises to try out there.

While you can get a flat stomach with these exercises, nothing will happen if you don't commit to a workout and stick to it on a daily basis. For this purpose you should include exercise that re both fun to do and at a normal difficulty level for you. Some people get engaged in difficult workouts and end up quitting after a few days of trying.

Flatten That Stomach - Here Are Some Simple Exercises For Your Abs!

Having great abs is everyone's dream, but exercising those stomach muscles can be hard work. If you're going to pay the price you might as well be doing the best exercises you can. So how will you know what works and what doesn't? You'll need to try some exercises out and see which ones work for you.

First off, it's a good idea to know that we need to work the different parts of the stomach. When I first started on this I just thought I had a stomach and a few sit-ups would do the job. Guess what? I found I've got obliques on the sides plus lower, mid and upper abdominals... and they all need attention. Let's get one thing straight... this isn't necessarily easy, unless you're already in peak condition. You'll have to put out a bit. So it's important to choose exercises that will work for you... exercises that you will actually perform over a period of at least several months.

You can go to the gym or just work out on the floor at home. You don't really need to go buying expensive equipment. All those machines you see on the infomercials aren't going to work themselves. It still involves you being willing to put out. A basic workout is to do three sets of 10 each of the exercises you choose to work with.

Basic stomach crunches are the backbone of any abs program. You can just lie down and do them anywhere. Throw in some side crunches to work on those obliques.

Another great exercise is to lie face down, resting on your elbows with hands clasped, then raise your pelvis until your body is straight and hold this position as long as you can. Your abs will start to burn after a while but as you persevere you'll be on the way to that six-pack stomach. Try the hip roll: lie on your back, knees up and roll your knees to the floor on either side. This works the lower abs and the obliques.

Bridging is another routine: lie on your back, knees bent, arms along side and thrust your pelvis up as far as you can.

Supermans will test your resolve: kneel down, hands flat to the floor and extend your left arm forward and your leg straight out backward and hold as long as you can; then repeat with the right. And don't forget... you're an individual. Find the exercise that will work best for you. If you don't like them you won't do them. Some exercises that get results for one person won't get that result for another. There's nothing wrong with cheating either. I find doing my tummy workout in bed before I go to sleep or when I wake up is a good place to get started into the routine.

If you still have some flab around your tummy that you would like to lose I can show you a proven program to get rid of that.

You will lose up to 5 pounds or more in 5 days (and more if you continue). As a bonus you will lose your carbohydrate cravings and not go hungry.

I have recently written a book entitled "Lose Weight -Never Go Hungry" which lays out a plan for overcoming carbohydrate addiction and losing weight.

You can download it FREE here: "Lose Weight - Never Go Hungry"

How to Get 6 Pack Abs Without Going to the Gym

You have always wanted to have 6 pack abs, but just didn't think that it was attainable. Well, one can have just that, one just needs to know how to get 6 pack abs without going to the gym. The gym was fine years ago and still is for those who have the time and the money. But the world is now in the 21st century and moves at a fast pace. Many of us just simply don't have the time. So here is a way to get your new abs, in the privacy of your own home.

To begin with, assign a small area of floor space as your own personal gym. Buy a yoga mat, or even easier, commandeer the living room rug and place it on the floor which from now on will be your personal gym at home.

Make sure the rug or mat is near your bed so you can use the edge of your bed to place your feet for ab crunches. By assigning a mat or rug like this, you create a mental reminder that will always sit there reminding you to do your 3 sets a day. If you have done them, seeing the mat or rug on the floor will give you good feelings and a sense of achievement. If you skipped them, the rug will be a nagging reminder that they still need doing.

Make sure to drink large amounts of water through the day and especially during the work out. Growing muscles and especially increasing the size of the abdominals requires lots of fluid. The anabolic effect is a process where nutrients and amino acids are assigned and travel to the muscles being rebuilt. If you are de-hydrated, the movement of those micro nutrients have a harder time being moved by the body. Message is clear...drink copious amounts of water every day. There are many other health benefits, like it flushes toxins out of your system more effectively.

Before any exercise, stretch your body. You can do this lying down or standing up, whichever is easier for you. Once you have stretched, lie down (if you are not already lying down) and bend your knees toward your chest. Did you drink some water before your stretched? Now place your hands behind your head and breathe in. While breathing out lift your head up until you feel a nice pull in the stomach muscles. Release and lie your head back down.

Repeat a set of 12. Stretch and drink some water. Repeat another set of 12 and stretch again. Then one more time. You are done. When you get up, get up slowly, so to not become dizzy.

Do these exercises every day, and once you have reached the desired effect of a tight lean six pack, to maintain healthy abs, perform these exercises three times a week.

If you would like to get a six pack in 23 days or less, buy The "Abs In 23 Days" training program. You can learn more about this award winning, abdominal pumping, fat stripping product by clicking HERE.
