Lose Belly Fat - Gain Great Abs

What is best Abs Workout?

The answer to the age-old question of "How can I lose stomach fat using Abs?" The answer is; None! Abs workouts alone don't create enough of a metabolic response in your body to create fat loss

I have been asked many times while working out what are the best exercises for losing stubborn fat to show off a great six pack. Everyone is looking for a miracle Abs workout that will slash their fat in no time.

The problem is they are going about it in the wrong way, you do NOT lose stomach fat just by doing Abs workouts.

The best answer I can give is to include full body exercises including, squats, lunges, deadlifts, pressups, snatches, swings, sprinting, etc. etc.

You must combine those full body exercises into a workout that maximizes your metabolism. However I do recommend a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abs and core, but these should only be a small part of your workout as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within the body. Keep in mind that the most important factor for losing belly fat to see your abs is actually in the nutrition arena. There is no alternative but to combine your hard workouts with a healthy diet. No matter how hard you workout, if your diet is full of rubbish foods, then your abdominals will be covered with ugly fat. Nutrition is without a doubt the number one priority for gaining a six pack. So let's get this straight.

Do not waste so much of your time focusing on all the usual abs exercises such as situps, crunches, etc.etc. Focus on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective fat loss workouts. Together with a healthy diet full of natural unprocessed whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those elusive six-pack abdominals will be yours in no time!

Getting 6 Pack Abs - The Real Truth

The simple step process getting 6 pack abs is as follows: strengthen your abdominal muscles and lose body fat. The concept is simple, but putting it into action is not. It will take dedication, willpower, patience and time to get a 6 pack abs but in the end, the effort is well worth it.

Below I have summarised few steps you need to take to achieve your goal. Make no mistake it will require a lot of dedication but if followed correctly, it will improve your body.

The first thing that is very important is what you eat and this is the most important part of the plan. What you need to do is to have mini meals instead of big meals as this will aid your metabolism. Also, stop eating fatty foods such as sugars, bread, pasta and so on and instead eat healthy food such as vegetables, eggs, fish, protein. I am not saying that it will be easy and you will have bad days but incorporate health eating and it will help you getting 6 pack abs.

Another aspect is to have a plan of sustained exercises and I would recommend 3 types which are cardio, weighlifting and ab exercises. The cardio exercises involve walking, running, swimming, biking - the choice is your stick with whicever you are comfortable with. You need to do this in bursts so for example if you like running then start of with walking and then build running into your exercise and do this few time per week. Weightlifting is also very important as it burns away a lot of fat. The last 6 pack abs exercise you need to incorporate are exercises specifically for your abs . There are lots of exercises you can do such as crunches, situps and leg lifts.

Here is another simple guide. Examine your posture or how you hold your body. Poor posture can give you that pot-belly appearance, while good posture can promote a taller, leaner and more youthful look. Take a peak at the list below as a guide to good posture.

  1. Head balanced on your neck, not leaning
  2. Shoulders relaxed and down, rolled back
  3. Abdominals contracted, tailbone pointed to the floor
  4. Knees are kept soft, not locked
  5. Ears, shoulders, ribs, hips, knees, ankles all vertically aligned

An Abs Diet - The Best Nutrition For Six Pack Abs

Getting those clear, well defined and separated, rock hard six pack abs that you've always wanted is down to two key ingredients:

1) The proper abs diet and nutrition, and
2) The best abs exercises and workout.

Neither are as hard as you might think, and both are vital components of achieving flat abs, but one is definitely more important than the other. Can you guess which is the real reason for flat abs?

That's right - your abs diet is way more important. You see, you can do all the ab exercises in the world and end up with six pack abs worthy of an Olympic body builder, but if you have too much body fat on then no-one will be able to see them! With the right abs diet, your perfect flat abs will be on display for everyone to see.

Nutrition and your abs diet is all about cutting back on unnecessary fats and boosting your lean muscle to raise your metabolism. Once your metabolism is up, your body will naturally burn more fat during the day and night. Because you'll be taking in less fat, your body will store less and so over time you'll see a reduction, and that means...

Your six pack abs will be on show!

Plan your diet over the next 4 weeks and keep to it. Measure your body fat at the beginning, then measure it again at the end. If you like, you can keep up an abs exercise workout at the same time to lose more body fat, but it's not vital. You can lose body fat just from eating the right foods.

Stick to lean meat like chicken, or if you are going to eat red meat like bacon or beef, make sure you cut off as much of the fat as possible. Don't eat too many carbohydrates during the day because your body may convert them to stored fat. Eat enough so you're not hungry, but have slightly smaller portions of potatoes, chips, rice or bread if you're going to have them. Make sure you get plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and above all - avoid sugary and rich foods like cake, crisps and sweets. These are the foods that contain the bad fats and oils that will be turned into the fat that covers your six pack abs.

A simple rule of thumb: if you feel guilty eating it, it's probably best not to.

One last tip. Drink plenty of cold water throughout the day. Not only is water good for you, but some research suggests that drinking cold water will raise your metabolism as your body tries to warm it up, giving you that extra edge. Go for 8 glasses a day - it may sound like a lot to start with, but you'll quickly get into a habit of doing it. You may find yourself going to the bathroom at lot at first, but your body will get the hang of regulating that much water within a few days.

If your diet is great to start off with, you may find it hard to switch to an "abs diet", but your efforts will not go unrewarded. An abs diet on its own won't guarantee you six pack abs though. You need to couple it with a decent training and abs exercise routine for your abs to really pop out.

He has spent years learning about exercise and just as long working on his own six pack abs Getting your own flat abs is not as hard as everyone makes out - visit The Truth About Six Pack Abs to find out exactly how David and hundreds of others got theirs, and how you can get yours.

Nope - You Won't Get 6 Pack Abs By Doing Crunches All Day

Well my friend, you have lead down the wrong path. Although there is a bit of truth in that sentence you are only being told part of the story. Right now you probably already have a good set of abs, not great, but good. Unfortunately your abs are covered with a thick layer of fat and no how many crunches you do, they won't get rid of that belly fat. In order to get rid of that fat you need two things; cardio and a good healthy diet. You mean I can't eat junk food, do my crunches and get rock hard abs? No. If it were that easy we would all be walking around showing off our beautiful 6 packs, but instead, most of us have a gut and unless we work hard at burning off that fat, no exercise or exercise machine is going to do us much good.

Let's get right down to it.

First, stop eating all that junk food. You know, the energy drinks, fat laden lattes and triple layered burgers. Learn to eat vegetables and fruits. I am not saying that you need to love them, just eat them. Both veggies and fruits give our bodies the energy and nutrition that it needs. They are both also low in fat and calories and full of fiber which will help you stay full longer. Then add in some non-fat dairy products, 100% whole grain breads and lean meats. Don't let fruits and veggies be last on your list of foods to eat, let them be first. Once you start to rely on good healthy food, you'll notice that you have more energy.

Now that your energy level has been raised lets talk about cardio. So what is cardio? Cardio is just another buzz word for aerobics. Aerobics sounded too structured with having to take classes and all, so people started to use the term cardio to let you feel less intimidated. Cardio is basically any exercise (or sport, or game)that raises your heart rate to it's ideal level and sustains it for 30 plus minutes. Cardio can be as simple as brisk walking 45 minutes a day, playing racquetball, swimming or some activity more advanced like jogging or running. If you have an older, push type lawnmower and it takes you 30 minutes to mow your lawn you can consider it, cardio. To get the best fat burning benefits from cardio you should your activity at least five times a week and try to push for a 45 minute time frame each session. As cardio will raise your heart rate be sure that you start off slowly if you have not be working out for a while and it's always smart to get a full physical and get the go ahead from your doctor.

Ok, now that you have cleaned up your diet and have started to add cardio to your life, you can proceed to do your crunches. This time however, you will see the results you are looking for...6 pack abs that everyone will envy.
