How Often Should I Work My Abs?

If you're like me, once you start an exercise routine you want to do it everyday how you can see results as soon as you can. However, this can actually hurt your body more than help it. Your abs are no different than the rest of your muscles - you wouldn't work your biceps or calves everyday, and you shouldn't work your abs everyday either. Your body needs some recovery time in order to grow stronger and change.

To get the best results at the fastest speed, work your abs 3 non-consecutive days a week. For example, do ab exercises on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Make sure to target all of your different ab muscles - the rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis, and internal and external obliques. Some example exercises that target these muscles are the following:

Rectus abdominis - ball crunches
Transverse abdominis - the plank
Internal / External obliques - the bicycle

You should perform 10 - 16 repetitions of each exercise 2 - 3 times, just like any other muscle. Make sure to check your form (making sure you are not using momentum), and you can always increase the difficulty and effectiveness of your workout by slowing the movements down.

You need to be careful not to work your abdominals too much or too frequently, otherwise they will not repair between exercise sessions. It is critical that you let your body heal properly between workouts how you can maximize your muscle gain and minimize the possibility of injuring yourself. Remember, it takes a very long amount of time to recover fully from an injury.

Would you like to know how to take your ab workout to the next step and achieve rock hard six pack abs - this has worked for me and many other people just like you. So check out http://www.lifefitnessblog.com/ and start on the road to a new, sexy you!

The Best Lower Abdominal Exercise Which Will Help You To Get Six Pack Abs

Be honest and answer yourself - are you satisfied with your lower abdominal? Would you like to improve it? If so, you are in the right place. In this article I am going to tell you about the best lower abdominal exercise which will help you to get nice abdominal as fast as possible.

Many people think that when you do any abdominal exercise, you train both upper and lower parts of your abdominal. This is a big mistake. You should train upper and lower abdominal separately. So, let's talk about the best lower abdominal exercise which has helped me.

From my experience, the best lower abdominal exercise is the reverse crunches. It is very easy and effective.

1. Lye on your back and cross your ankles.
2. Your arms should be placed on the floor.
3. Slowly raise your hips off the floor and then lower your hips back.
4. Repeat the process as many times as you can.

Many people say that you should repeat this process 30 times, but I think that you should stop as soon as you feel that it is enough.

So, do this exercise 3 or 4 times a week and you will be satisfied with your lower abdominals. You can also try other exercises but as for me, this is the best lower abdominal exercise.

I have tried a lot of different fat loss and exercise plans. They all were worthless. 90 percent of these books is a scam. So don't be fooled. If you really want to loose your belly fat and get flat, ripped abs, you should take a look at the special book, which has helped me to get six pack abs in a month.

3 Reasons You Need To Have Abs Now!

Our bodies are constantly being measured. In gyms, playing fields, beaches and bedrooms all over the world they are measured by others. In mirrors and on bathrooms scales we are constantly measuring ourselves. Besides the vanity measurements, there are many other reasons why having strong abs are not only beneficial but almost necessary. While some people may think that working towards having six pack abs is shallow, there's nothing wrong with striving to have great 6 pack abs. When you have abs you are telling the world that you're motivated, confident, healthy and disciplined. You will feel better about yourself and you will look better. A survey showed that 32 percent of women said that abs are the muscles that most likely to make them melt.

Having strong six pack abs will do more than just turn heads at the beach though. Here are the top six reasons, besides vanity, that you getting those strong abs will make your life better.

Abs will Help you Live longer

Many studies have shown that having a larger waist size can cause many life threatening diseases. According to the National Institute of Health, a waistline larger than 40 inches for men signals significant risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Having abs is not a get out of the hospital free card, but studies show that by developing a strong abdominal section, you'll reduce body fat and significantly cut the risks associated with many diseases, not just heart disease.

Abdominal fat can also put you are risk for a lot of other conditions that rob you are a good nights rest including asthma and gastroesophageal reflux. This can lead to an ugly cycle of having poor sleep, being sluggish and tired, then your body will crave some quick energy, so you snack on some high-calorie junk food. That junk food leads to more abdominal fat...

Abs will Improve your sex life

Having strong ab muscles will increase your stamina. The thrusting power you generate during sex doesn't come from your legs; it actually comes from your core. Strong abs will give you the stamina and strength to try new positions and help you to maintain the motion control that's important for your staying power as well as your partners pleasure.

You will have better erections. When you eat a lot of fatty foods, the gunk that blocks blood vessels leading to your heart will also block the blood leading to your genitalia. This decrease in blood flow will equal softer, or no erections.

You will also have increased length. The fat that is at the base of a mans abdomen covers up the base of his penis. Studies have shown that losing just 15 pounds will add up to a half an inch to the length or a man's member. Technically it is not growing, losing the fat that surrounds it will allow all of you've got to show and perform.

Abs will Strengthen your back

Most back pain is related to weak muscles in your trunk, maintaining a strong core can help resolve many back issues that men suffer from. If you are one of the millions of men that suffer from back pains, developing strong abdomen muscles are essential.

When your abs are weak, the muscles in you glutes (your butt) and the muscles in muscles in the back of your legs (your hamstrings) have to compensate for the work your abs should be doing. The effect is that it destabilizes the spine and eventually leads to back pain and strain. It could even lead to more serious back problems.

Six Pack Abs And A Great Way To Burn Them When They Are Stubborn!

I've always really enjoyed seeing my clients faces when they finish one of our workouts and are holding their stomach's and shaking their heads in satisfied understanding.

You see many times people have come to train saying they've reach what we call a 'plateau' in their abs training. They've become used to a particular exercise and rep range. That's when it gets exciting. I go into this in much more detail in my book - AbMetrics. But for this article I am going to explain what we do.

Basically I work 'opposites' - by this I mean, when that feeling of a plateau sets in, I work with the client to see exactly what they are doing and I reverse the program.

i.e. if they do 100 sit ups for example with just body weight - I reverse them to lower reps of say 10 with weighted abdominal work.

This is a simple example and it is more in depth than that but the gist is exactly as I said. I firstly like to confuse and 'reprogram' the abs - regularly doing this in the way I do blasts through plateaus. Don't get me wrong, these are challenging moments but I love going through them and seeing the other side, where training kicks in to being a 'results based' past time again....

Secondly, I have a complete guide to my 'confusion' techniques in the book but another thing that works wonders is 'exhaustion reps' - these have been around a while and are something you work up to...but after all is said and done and the ab workout is over, I've been known to get my clients straight back into an exercise they've not done in a while or not even heard of. I'm there letting them know its got to be done...etc etc and the results are incredible as the body is not prepared and the mind is already on its way to the showers...

but you can do it alone also. Just don't think about anything else, do your sets then when you know you are finished pop in a new final set of a completely different exercise for say 10-30 reps...do this with as much strict form as possible - THEN finish....

The showers await and your stomach WILL burn...all the way through your plateaus. And six pack abs are the final end result.

Better ABS

Ten steps to rock hard abdominals.

Step One
Go to the gym. This is a very important step because if you don't leave your house, chances are you won't make it to the gym. This article is for gym rats that want the six pack. I will talk about home training in another article. So, just get out and join a good gym.

Step two
Start drinking more water. This is a very valuable nutrient that I think most people forget about. At least 8 glass a day and thet will be fine.

Step Three
Make a ab workout with variety. You know that it is the spice of life. It's also the spice of your abs. Make sure you use at lease 6 different exercises for your ab routine. If you don't think you can do that, try 3 different exercises and make them intense, holding the last rep for at least 10 seconds.

Step Four
Man those carbs are killing you. Ok, im not gonna tell you to go out and diet hard but I will tell you to leave the carbs in the evening alone. Try to have a cut off point. You know how much weight you need to lose in order to show your abs. So, if you need to lose 20-30 pounds cut the carbs real early, like 12:00 pm. If you need to lose 5-10 pounds, try cutting your carbs around 3pm. If you really wanna get ripped, try this bodybuilding technique. You can take a day off from carbs. One day on and one day off. This works for many bodybuilders.

Step Five
If you want to have great looking abs you should strive for great flexibility. Stretching adds great symetry to your body. So if you are flexible it will make your waistline appear to be smaller. A tight waste tends to look bulky and thats not nice to look at.

Step Six
If you don't see the results from holding your reps use resistance. You can use a medicine ball with a weight vest. Just get that burn you desire.

Step Seven
Train your abs for feel. In other words if your abs arent burning you aren't doing anything. Make all your workouts feel intense. Thats the only way you will reach your fitness goals.

Step Eight
Get your cardio on. Make sure you do at least 1 hour of cardio every session with at least 4 sessions a week. Make sure your workout is versatile. You will never stick to a boring workout. Try to have at least 4-6 different cardio exercises.

Step Nine
Use a journal. Try to keep track of your progress somehow. Wether its in a journal or just jot them down on a piece of paper. Keeping track of your progress is the best way to reach any goal. It has to be written in order for it to be real.

Step Ten
Have a spiritual escape. Have something that you do everyday that relaxes you such as draw, read, bubble bath with candles, prayer, meditation, collect things, surf the net. What ever really relaxes you, do it at the end of everyday. It will make a difference in your attitude knowing that you have something to really releave your stress when you get home.

With these steps you should be on your way to great abs and good health.
