Six Pack Abs A Myth?

You see it on television, magazines, and posters everywhere. Those perfectly symmetrical six pack abs. Can this actually be attainable?

The answer is, obviously, YES! You can have six packs and they can be a part of your reality. However, you must realize that getting six packs is no walk in the park. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and, of course, eating right.

Although many of those models are genetically gifted to having six packs, many have to go through intense diets to get the way they look. It's their job! I have a friend that tried being a model and couldn't do it because he didn't have the will power to diet right.

I'm not discouraging attempting to get six packs like those shown on advertisements. One must realize, however, that having six packs means having very low body fat levels. Around 10% is the level that your six packs will begin showing up. Getting to this level will probably be the very last process of weight loss. So in any weight loss program expect to get the abs last, not first. Don't be discouraged.

Working out to get abs is not as important as diet. Bodybuilders often state that six packs aren't made in the gym but are made in the kitchen. This is absolutely true. You can't lose weight by working out and eating whatever you want. Cutting calories is essential in any goal of having muscular definition in the abdominal area.

As for abdominal specific exercises. I feel that people already know the fact that abs exercises won't make your abs show up but let me mention it in case you don't know. Abdominal exercises do build your abs. However, having muscles and having muscles that show is totally different. Everyone knows the big guy that feels like he's so buff since he weighs around 200 pounds. However, to everyone else he is just fat. Sure he can bench press twice his weight but his body fat levels are so high that his muscle is hidden.

Another thing about abs is that they vary for different people. Some people may have symmetrical abs and others may have different types. Take a look at various bodybuilders during contests and you'll notice how every bodybuilder has different looking abs. Strange but true. Don't expect your abs to look like your favorite celebrity or model. Having goals like that is not smart. Rather, set goals like "having abs". That's a lot easier to attain than having "Brad Pitt's abs in 'Fight Club'".

Six Pack Abs - Result Not Just From The Workout But Your Mindset Also!

It pretty clear that most people want and train to have strong, cut, ripped and impressive abs. We all want 6 pack abs and there are many many exercises specific for this end results.

But in training my clients I focus very clearly and very obviously on what is the most important aspect of abdominal training....

You can do all the sit ups in the world, but if you are not focused and have 'your head in the right place' - results will not be what they could be.

The first thing to get correct is your mental approach. I've seen many people (and I used to be one of them) who throw in a few ab exercises at the end of a good workout for say chest and shoulders, they give it a 50% effort and then head to the showers.

It is so important to know that whenever you train abdominals you are training a muscle same as chest, shoulders, biceps, triceps or any other major muscle group. Yes they may be smaller - the abs - but you need to focus just as intently on this section of your workout as you would any other.

I am not saying that everyone does not do this...but it is interesting to see the obvious difference in results when people focus 110% on their abdominal training and do it with intensity, as opposd to when they just throw a few sit ups in with some other ab exercises. The mind is a powerful tool and it should be used in conjunction with abdominal training.

Because when all is said and done, six pack abs are absolutely obtainable and easier than you think. But you need to know you can do it and when you train abs - Make SURE you do it as intensely as your mind is telling you to do it.

There are no shortcuts folks, but the results are worth every second of intense focus. And results are guaranteed with this method, not only in abdominal training, but in any other endeavour you take on.

Know you can do it. And enjoy the intensity. The results will come quicker than ever.

(after all - you are going to take the same amount of time regardless...do it properly and you'll beefit greatly)

6 Idiot Proof Ways To Great Abs Quick

There are many ways to achieve great abs quick in a short time. A lot of us will try many methods before finding the best method to achieve the dream abs that we want. I have here six points you must take note before embarking on the journey to achieve the abs that you want.

First, remember that all of us have to burn calories to lose fat. No matter how we train them, the abs will not become visible unless we lose the fats around them. Many people focused too much on training their muscles and neglect to lose the calorie, which is why they fail to achieve their dream abs even though they train very hard everyday.

Second, proper nutrition is important when we are trying to burn calories. When we are trying to lose weight, we should always try to keep to a low calorie diet. While keeping our intake of calories low is important, it is also important to burn off the existing fats in our body. That is why exercise is also important. Proper diet with the proper exercise will generate the results that we want to get.

Third, it is very helpful to get a Swiss ball to help us with our calorie burning exercise. The Swiss ball will help us train different muscles through a full range of motion. Most of the abs exercises are designed with a Swiss ball in mind.

Fourth, we should do many different types of exercise to keep our calories burn constant. Different exercises also help us train different parts of our body. For example, jogging and cycling helps us to train our leg power while swimming will actually help us train all parts of our body. If our body is too used to one exercise, we will soon stop burning calories as the body is too used to it.

Fifth, do not use supplements to help you burn calories. Although supplements containing Ephedra can help us burn more calories while we work, it can cause heart rhythm problems and even lead to stroke in some people. Besides all these side effects, our appetite and weight will also come back when we stop taking Ephera.

Last, genetics is an important factor in determining whether we are fat or slim. Some people are born fat, while some will not get fat no matter how much they eat. That is why we say that the world is unfair. Follow some of the idiot proof ways and get to those great abs quick.

For you are seriously trying to slim your waistline, stop piling on the fats, get discipline, enforce determination and get your own personal health magazine washboard abs at http://www.trainthoseabs.info

Take The Low Approach To Great Abs:

Not only are rock hard abs a symbol of fitness, but strong and flexible abdominal muscles help trim your waist and end back pain. Two very important health goals of many who enter an exercise facility. It allows you to move from side to side with stability and control. Men and women want to walk on the beach and show off all their hard work by exposing their abs. From what has been seen in gym and health facilities, it is most worked on muscle group or it is the most neglected. What category do you end up falling into? There are many ways in which you can work you abdominal muscles. There is scientific sequence to effectively shaping and creating great abs.

Most people are stronger in their upper to middle abdominals compared to their lower abdominal muscles. It is recommended that you work your lower abs first since you are freshest and have the most energy to get the most out of your stomach. The abdominal muscles react and provide optimal results visually when performed to failure. Failure occurs when the muscle is thoroughly exhausted and the exercise can no longer be executed. This means you can not do one more painful repetition. Your mid-section should be worked in this manner all the time.

Some examples for lower abs are as follows:

The reverse crunch (using the slant board) - with your hand holding the bars and your legs straight on the floor, raise your knees to your face, while bending your knees, until the fetal position. Then slowly drop your rear end until you touch the board and repeat the exercise.

Leg lifts (performed on the Roman Chair) - Start with your back on the back support and lift your knees/legs to its highest point. Feet should not be allowed to swing behind your rear end at its lowest point for safety and momentum purposes.

Hanging leg raises (performed on the cable machines) - Start by hanging from the middle pull up bar on the cable machines. The hanging leg raise is probably the most result producing stomach exercise since it is generated from the lower abs and then incorporated the upper abs at its peak. It begins by having your feet lift over and above your waist until it reached approximately where your hands are holding on. Remember to keep you body from swinging back and forth. This will cause you to use more stomach muscles and less momentum.

Then proceed to your upper/middle abs to get that desired burn.

The Ab Roller, which is great for upper abdominals and obliques, is great to start with since it promotes safety and immediate results. Exercises utilizing the ball and floor mats are great ways to end a stomach workout. The utility ball allows for maximum stretching to hit all areas of the mid-section.

Since your stomach is considered your smallest muscle, you are able - and recommended to - train them up to 6 days per week. A cardiovascular work out which consist of constant aerobic activity which last for more than 30 minutes at your 80% target heart rate is extremely beneficial and necessary to achieve that ever desired six pack.

Great abs are only obtained through hard work, perseverance and proper form. They are the central point in which your motion begins and ends. In the end, great abs will give you the needed support for your workout and your life.
