Six Pack Abs - Result Not Just From The Workout But Your Mindset Also!

It pretty clear that most people want and train to have strong, cut, ripped and impressive abs. We all want 6 pack abs and there are many many exercises specific for this end results.

But in training my clients I focus very clearly and very obviously on what is the most important aspect of abdominal training....

You can do all the sit ups in the world, but if you are not focused and have 'your head in the right place' - results will not be what they could be.

The first thing to get correct is your mental approach. I've seen many people (and I used to be one of them) who throw in a few ab exercises at the end of a good workout for say chest and shoulders, they give it a 50% effort and then head to the showers.

It is so important to know that whenever you train abdominals you are training a muscle same as chest, shoulders, biceps, triceps or any other major muscle group. Yes they may be smaller - the abs - but you need to focus just as intently on this section of your workout as you would any other.

I am not saying that everyone does not do this...but it is interesting to see the obvious difference in results when people focus 110% on their abdominal training and do it with intensity, as opposd to when they just throw a few sit ups in with some other ab exercises. The mind is a powerful tool and it should be used in conjunction with abdominal training.

Because when all is said and done, six pack abs are absolutely obtainable and easier than you think. But you need to know you can do it and when you train abs - Make SURE you do it as intensely as your mind is telling you to do it.

There are no shortcuts folks, but the results are worth every second of intense focus. And results are guaranteed with this method, not only in abdominal training, but in any other endeavour you take on.

Know you can do it. And enjoy the intensity. The results will come quicker than ever.

(after all - you are going to take the same amount of time regardless...do it properly and you'll beefit greatly)

How to Get Killer Abs Rapidly

The trick to killer abs is presentation. Plain and simple. Many people become confused about this particular body part.. The abdominals are an attractive center piece on a good muscular body. When we decide we want an attractive set of abs too, what do we do? We start training them. We work them and work them and work them until they start getting larger....but there is a problem. If you enlarge the abdominals you are actually doing the opposite of what you really want.

The eye always travels and rests on the abs. This is why abdominals are so popular to train. However, this myth is perpetuated by the fitness industry to help sell more ab machines. The truth is, you don't want big abs. A good muscular body has a nice tight set of abs, yes, but they look good because they are SMALL!!! The eye compares the shoulders and the torso to effectively make a decision on how tight lean and skinny a person is. If you have a thick layer of fat on your torso, and you train your abdominals also, what happens is your torso GROWS the added muscle fiber along with the existing fat makes the torso look bigger not smaller.

Clearly there is a lot of confusion here. Killer abs are a matter of aesthetics and not muscle. You can easily get them to respond with some mild pedestrian resistance training. The key is to reduce your over all body fat. Single digit percentages body fat gives the definition you need to get a killer looking set of abs.

Forget Crunches If You Want Six Pack Abs

That can't be right can it?

Surely if you do nothing else but do ab crunches all day long you'll end up with a stomach like a washboard?

Er, well no, that's not strictly true...

In fact, not only is it possible to get six pack abs without a single crunch, it's also possible that relying on relentless crunching is moving you away from your desired flat stomach!

Ok, before I get carted off by the men in white coats, let me explain. Come to think of it, even if you *did* call the men in white coats, it would be *me* they would agree with!

It's all to do with the physiology, the construction of the body around the abdomen. A six pack is a display of defined abdominal muscles. Crunching is a superb way of strengthening and building these muscles, but it's vital to bear in mind, that if you currently don't have that six pack, your ab muscles will most likely be covered with a layer of fat. It doesn't have to be a rippling spare tire, Homer Simpson style, but there will be a layer of fat covering those muscles.

If you simply concentrate on building the abs, but do nothing about the fat, then as your abs develop, not only will they not be visible, but they will actually be pushing the layer of fat outwards! This is the last thing you want!

The layer of fat is one of the hardest areas to get rid of, so you need to start an all-round fitness regime if you really want a six pack. Try to focus on a good cardio workout, some sort of aerobic type exercise that will get your blood pumping and keep it in your target heart rate zone for at least 30 minutes and do your cardio at least 5 days a week for best results. Brisk walking, jogging, swimming and TaeBo are all good examples of a cardio workout. Gradually, and this won't and cannot happen overnight, as the fat layer disappears, your ab muscles will become closer to the surface, and therefore more visible.

Take it from me, as someone who's done it, the ab muscles get plenty of workout in everyday life, so are often defined enough so that once the fat layer had gone, they give off that familiar six pack look.

So there you are, a simple explanation of biology has got rid of almost any need for those horrible crunches! You may want to do them to buff up your abs once the can be seen, but blimey they are hard enough to do at any time let alone if the effort is just going to waste!

Getting that elusive 6 pack doesn't have to be hard, you just need to know the facts. To learn the best way to get Rock Hard Abs and receive a free copy of the special report "The Stubborn Fat Solution" please visit:http://www.squidoo.com/flatten-your-abs
