Six Pack Abs and How to Get Them

Six pack abs are a physical feature just about everyone wants but are incredibly difficult to get. We spend countless hours and dollars each year trying to create six pack abs. We see our favorite TV and movie stars with them and get jealous because they have all the time and money in the world to spend on creating those beautiful abs and we don't.

So what is the secret to creating six pack abs anyway? Lucky for us, there isn't really any secret movement or exercise to creating six pack abs. Instead, it is a combination of diet and exercise, but what diet and what exercises? There are several excercises you can use to achieve results, but the best options are as follows:

If you want to have six pack abs you need to do the following things:

Exercise those abs and lose the body fat.

What exercises are the best? Abdominal of course, but more importantly:

1. Crunches
2. Sit ups
3. Leg lifts
4. Jack Knife Sit ups
5. Static Holds and Side statics
6. Push Ups
7. Pull Ups

These exercises will strengthen your abdominal muscles so that they will appear once you start losing the body fat. There is nothing more awesome than seeing your ribbed stomach muscles for the first time. It is best to start out with 10-12 reps of each exercise with 3-4 sets each. As your muscles get stronger you can increase the number of reps.

Now how to lose the body fat:

1. Lift weights
2. Perform cardio (running, jumprope, riding etc)
3. Watch what you eat

Lifting weights will increase your muscle mass which does several things. It causes you to burn more calories from the food you eat. This helps to lower your fat reserves. Cardio work helps your heart as well as your metabolism. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn both during activity and at rest. This is key. Lastly, you need to cut down on portion sizes at meal time, eat smaller meals but more frequently, and increase your lean meats, vegetables and fruits in your diet. Try to stay away from all sugars as much as possible. Drink plenty of water as well! Increase your fiber intake and eat breakfast.

The Best Abs Crunch Exercise

This has got to be the most popular and asked question, ever. And it's also one without a real answer, since there are dozens of great abs crunch exercises. The best is a matter of continued debate and opinion, with personal trainers, bodybuilders, fitness experts, nutritionists, yoga instructors and hobbyists all arguing over which abs crunch exercise is the best.

Luckily, they do generally agree on a few things, which is that the best abs crunch exercise is actually a combination of several exercises rolled into one. This killer abs crunch exercise will work out your upper and lower abs (at least, it will work your rectus abdominis from several angles to ensure maximum fiber stimulation along the entire vertical length of the muscle, since isolation is impossible within a single muscle), it will attack your obliques, and promote size and strength of the entire abdominal section.

So here it is, the best abs crunch exercise. Be warned though, it's not for the faint of heart. If you want all in one, you have to be prepared to put in all your effort.

Lie on your back, and cup your hands behind your head. Lift your head off the ground, but don't use your hands to pull. They're just there for support - your abs should be the muscles doing the work. Next, bring your knees up to your chest. OK, that part was easy. Now comes the hard part.

Straighten out your right leg, keeping your foot 10-12 inches off the floor. Your left leg should stay where it is, bent with your knee up to your chest as far as is comfortable. As you straighten your right leg, lift your shoulder blades off the floor, lean forward and twist your upper torso so you touch your right elbow against your left knee. Feel the abs and obliques working?

To complete one repetition, you basically swap legs. Relax your shoulder blades back onto the floor, then draw your right knee back into your chest and simultaneously extend your left leg. As you do so, lift the shoulder blades off the floor and twist your upper torso the other way, touching your left elbow against your right knee as it reaches your chest. You should be doing a kind of bicycle motion with your legs, and twisting your torso left and right alternately whilst doing mini crunches. Perform 10-15 reps, then rest. After 90-120 seconds, do another set, and then another if you can manage it.

After doing a few sets of the best abs crunch exercise, you should be able to feel the effect all over your abs. The twisting works your obliques, the crunches work your upper abs and the bicycle legs work your lower abs, all at once. So there you have it. The best abs crunch exercise.

How to Get Defined Abs

How to get defined abs as a question really is the wrong question. Knowing what to do, can mean the difference between a set of cool bumps on your belly and wasting your time grovelling on the floor for 30 days without any results. Everyone know's that exercise is the key to shaping muscle, but exercise alone is not the whole picture. Let's look into how to get defined abs more deeply.

Of course before you exercise, you should always speak to your doctor first. A positive attitude is crucial before you begin and knowing with confidence after a physical check up that your doctor encourages you to exercise is a comforting thing. Whats the use of a nice set of Abdominals if you dropped dead of a heart attack!

Let's leap in! The way to get defined abs is a question of body fat. The first question is hydration. Many people exercise without drinking anything and this can wreak havoc on the body or even be dangerous. Water that is room temperature is best, as cold water may cause cramps.

Secondly, is proper form. Proper form is vital with any exercise and without it, you can actually sprain the muscle or shape it wrong - which is much worse!.

Finally there is repetition. Repetition is an important facet of any exeercise program as it creates the necessary strain on the targeted muscles that will create the enlargement you seek.Repetition will actually shape the muscle and maintain it after the desired look is reached.

Bare in mind that repetition of an exercise need not be in the hundreds. Actually, you are not going to benefit from hundreds of reps as the muscle will get accustomed to the work load. You don't want that.

Unreasonable amounts of sets will only bring discouragement and failure. 3 sets of 12 sit ups is enough daily to allow the stomach muscles to respond. One must perform these 3 sets every day.

3 simple ideas that will get you pumping your abs in no time at all. The way to get defined abs is to reduce body fat so your new larger abs will show through.

Each time you work your abs in an effort to define them, you should hydrate your body constantly. use proper form when executing your crunches and do enough repititions to create an anabolic environment without actually over doing it.. So go on and define those ab!
