5 Great Tips to Flatten Your Abs

Are you not satisfied with the way your stomach looks? Embarrassed to go to the beach or the pool? Or do you just wish to make your abs more flat and firm? If so, then read on. I will tell you five simple tips that will greatly help to flatten your abs - they're easy to do and free. Follow these and create the body that you desire.

1. Perform different ab exercises each week. If you change your abdominal exercises up each week you will speed up your results. Change is good for building muscle because it constantly targets new muscle groups and keeps your muscles from "getting used to" your workout, which limits its effectiveness. So try changing you routine each week and I am sure that you will notice results faster.

2. Proper breathing. They way that you breath during exercise can actually help build your muscle. You should always exhale during exertion. This decreases your internal air pressure, which results in your abs being more involved during the exercise.

3. Eating habits. You should eat fresh, whole, unprocessed foods, while staying away from the foods high in sugar and sodium. You also should try to drink eight glasses of water a day (and no soda or coffee). Try drinking ice water - the extra coldness will actually speed up your metabolism and increase the amount of calories that you burn.

4. Aerobic exercises. Try doing 30 - 45 minutes of cardio 3 days a week. This will help burn extra fat and expose your abdominals, thus increasing the speed at which you start to see results.

5. Keep your abs contracted. Try contracting and hold your ab muscles while you sit, stand, drive, or perform other exercises. This will help flatten your mid section and will actually reduce strain on your back.

These five tips are easy and effective. If you do them properly and consistently, I guarantee that you will start to see results soon. Now is the best time to start building that new, sexy you! To learn more on how to firm and flatten your abs, visit http://www.lifefitnessblog.com/

How to Get Abs Fast

Now that we're well into the fall and approaching winter, it's easy to slip into a lazy routine and lose those six pack abs you've worked so hard for. The holidays wreak havoc on flat stomachs thanks to large meals and cold weather. So how you can retain your sexy abs during the most testing time of year? Don't sweat (yet); it's easy if you know how to get abs fast in the first place.

The key to six-pack abs is all about your routine. Find some ab exercises you're comfortable with, create an exercise diary, and stick to it! Some of the most effective ab exercises include crunches, sit-ups, and leg lifts, and they'll have your abs back in shape or firmer than ever as long as you follow them with discipline, despite the challenging winter months.

The first ab exercise, sit-ups, is probably already familiar to you. I know, I know...you hate sit-ups, they're uncomfortable, they take too long, etc. The reasons sit-ups get such a bad rap in the quest to get abs fast is because people just don't do them correctly, or worse -- they do them lazily. First, lie on your back in a flat, open space with knees bent and feet on the floor. With your hands crossed over your chest, focus on your abdominal muscles as you bring your chest up all the way to your knees. Squeeze your abs! The most common mistake people make is that they use muscles other than their abs to pull themselves up. You don't have to do a million fast sit-ups to feel the burn in your ab muscles, you just have to do good ones where all the stress is on the abs.

The crunch, also a great ab exercise, is a variation of the sit-up. Instead of placing your feet on the floor, rest your calves across a bed or piece of furniture so that your knees are bent at a 90 degree angle. Again, visualize your flat stomach and focus on squeezing your abs as you bring your body against your knees. As you get to higher repetitions, picture your sleek, sexy abs or flat stomach with each pump (it really does motivate you).

Finally, leg lifts are a strong lower ab exercises that should get your stomach cut up nicely. While lying with your whole body flat on your back, put your hands under your butt and raise your legs about six inches from the ground, concentrating again on the ab muscles. Breathe in as you lift your legs, breathe out as you lower them and tighten your abs. You get a lot of resistance from these fast, so try to do about three more than you think you can. Remember that you want those abs fast!

Although this guide is on the abdominal exercise area of how to get abs fast, never underestimate the other factors of fitness, especially cardio work and diet. You might find that on your journey to get abs fast you're not seeing the results you expect, and that may be simply because you need to do some jogging as well. In fact, strong abs under a flabby stomach can actually make you look fat! If that's ever happened to you, doing a bit of running will bring all your hard work full circle and reveal those beautiful abs.

The Best Abs Crunch Exercise

This has got to be the most popular and asked question, ever. And it's also one without a real answer, since there are dozens of great abs crunch exercises. The best is a matter of continued debate and opinion, with personal trainers, bodybuilders, fitness experts, nutritionists, yoga instructors and hobbyists all arguing over which abs crunch exercise is the best.

Luckily, they do generally agree on a few things, which is that the best abs crunch exercise is actually a combination of several exercises rolled into one. This killer abs crunch exercise will work out your upper and lower abs (at least, it will work your rectus abdominis from several angles to ensure maximum fiber stimulation along the entire vertical length of the muscle, since isolation is impossible within a single muscle), it will attack your obliques, and promote size and strength of the entire abdominal section.

So here it is, the best abs crunch exercise. Be warned though, it's not for the faint of heart. If you want all in one, you have to be prepared to put in all your effort.

Lie on your back, and cup your hands behind your head. Lift your head off the ground, but don't use your hands to pull. They're just there for support - your abs should be the muscles doing the work. Next, bring your knees up to your chest. OK, that part was easy. Now comes the hard part.

Straighten out your right leg, keeping your foot 10-12 inches off the floor. Your left leg should stay where it is, bent with your knee up to your chest as far as is comfortable. As you straighten your right leg, lift your shoulder blades off the floor, lean forward and twist your upper torso so you touch your right elbow against your left knee. Feel the abs and obliques working?

To complete one repetition, you basically swap legs. Relax your shoulder blades back onto the floor, then draw your right knee back into your chest and simultaneously extend your left leg. As you do so, lift the shoulder blades off the floor and twist your upper torso the other way, touching your left elbow against your right knee as it reaches your chest. You should be doing a kind of bicycle motion with your legs, and twisting your torso left and right alternately whilst doing mini crunches. Perform 10-15 reps, then rest. After 90-120 seconds, do another set, and then another if you can manage it.

After doing a few sets of the best abs crunch exercise, you should be able to feel the effect all over your abs. The twisting works your obliques, the crunches work your upper abs and the bicycle legs work your lower abs, all at once. So there you have it. The best abs crunch exercise.

How to Flatten Your Abs Without Sit-ups

Many for years have been led to believe that you need to do a massive amount of sit-ups in order to get the flat abs you so desire. The truth is, however, it doesn’t have to be that way at all. As a matter of fact, just a few simple exercises can help you flatten your abs with ease!

The first exercise you can do is called V-ups. These are done by lying flat on the floor with your hands over your head touching the ground. When you have achieved this position, raise your torso and legs in a simultaneous motion while keeping your legs straight. Reach your hands towards your feet making them touch if possible. Hold this position for a few seconds, and then return to the flat position that you first began with. Repeat this as much as you’d like, and you are sure to flatten your abs.

The second exercise you can do is called the lunge Chop. This is done by taking medicine ball in both hands and holding it over one of your shoulders. Step forward with the leg that is opposite to the shoulder over which the ball is being held until the knee is t a ninety degree angle. When you have achieved this position, swing the ball down in a chopping motion. Do this eight times and then switch to the other shoulder. This, too, is another way in which you can flatten your abs.

The last exercise is sort of fun, and it is called the Barbell Rollout. This is done by gripping a barbell over handedly while kneeling on the floor. When this position has been achieved, roll the barbell s far out way from you as possible with your hand still gripping, and then roll it back in towards you. In order for this exercise to be effective, these must be done in sets of ten.

Have fun flattening your abs and getting the stomach of your dreams. NO more will you ever have to go through so much trouble getting rid of the fat.
