4 Weight Loss Supplements That You Can Add To Your Flat Tummy Diet To Get Those Killer Abs

How is your flat tummy diet coming along? There have been some new interesting research that can definitely aid you in losing those abdominal fats by adopting some of the supplements recommended here. Find out how Vitamin C, fish oil, oligofructose and avoiding sports drink can enhance your body's ability to burn abdominal fats and achieve great weight loss results.

1 - Fat loss supplements may soon be a thing of the past or there may be a new ingredient. And that new ingredient is your simple vitamin C tablet. There was a new study and provides very interesting results. And it will also be considered good news for everyone who wants to lose weight. Taking 500 milligrams of vitamin C in a day can induce the body to burn 39 percent more fats while you are exercising.

But do take note that if you are thinking of saving money and just consuming orange or orange juice, you need to read this. When orange juice, after being processed, only contains 82 milligram out of 250 mililitres of orange juice, and the vitamin C also loses up to 50 percent of its content.

2 - Drink water or consume protein-only drinks after every workout in order to achieve best results. A new research was done on the effects of sports drink after each workout and the results were not encouraging. The findings concluded that consuming the sports drink after your workout will affect your body's ability to burn off more fats.

3 - Start consuming fish oil. It was found that having fish oil will actually be good for your abdomens as well as your heart. Apparently, the enzymes can be stimulated by the fish oil to improve the fat burning process in your body.

4 - Start recognising the word Oligofructose. This is a type of fibre that has been research and found that it can help people to lose weight effortlessly. Take just one and a half teaspoon of the nutrient around 2 times per day. You can do more research on this fibre before you start consuming it.

Do you think you can add the above into your flat tummy diet? Start doing your own research first, and if you are comfortable, then start adding the above into your diet and start seeing results to your path to that killer abs.

Abs Exercise Machines - Do You Really Need One?

Many people say that abs exercise machines are the quickest, easiest and best way to get six pack abs. In one sense they're right, but in another totally different sense they're wrong. Keep reading and I'll explain why, and also why you don't need abs exercise machines to get the flat abs you want.

First, let's have a look at the different types of abs exercise machines that are available to buy.

1. Crunchers. These are the big odd looking cage type contraptions which you use to help guide you when you're doing crunches. You lie on your back with your head on a small pillow, and rest on your arms on the cruncher's side bars. As your contract your abs, the cage rolls up with your shoulder blades offering them extra support.

These machines (while although they're not technically "machines" in the sense that they have moving parts) are a waste of time. They offer no real benefit other than making you look like you're in an exercise DVD. You can easily perform exactly the same motion without the machine, and it's a lot cheaper!

2. Complicated gym machines. By this I mean the great big chairs, tables and who knows what else that make you feel like you're either going to the dentist, or being abducted by aliens! If you have to strap yourself in, hold on for fear of falling off or contort yourself and spend ages fiddling with various settings, it's not worth it.

There is one decent abs exercise machine in your local gym though, and that's the "Captain's Chair". This is basically a chair without a seat raised into the air. You stand up and grip the "arms" of the chair, brace your back against the chairs back, and then lift your knees to your chest. This exercise can be performed similarly by lying on the floor and raising your knees to your chest, but the Captain's Chair forces you to exert more effort and control over your entire core.

3. Electric ab belts. Have you ever used one of these? I'm talking about the ab belts which you strap around your waist, then plug into the wall. They zap you with small electrical charges for a few seconds, every few seconds. This forces your abdominal muscles to contract and tense. If you leave it on for a week, you should come out with six pack abs.. at least that's the theory.

Some people do have good results with electric ab belts, especially if they have a very busy lifestyle and can't afford 30 minutes a day for a little exercise. But generally the results you'll get from electric ab belts will be cosmetic - you won't see drastic improvements in your overall core strength, and it can be a pain to have to keep moving the electric pads around so you hit all the muscles you should.

4. Fitness wheels. These devices are a little hard to imagine if you haven't seen one already. Basically, it's a wheel with a handle sticking out of the center on either side. This means you can hold both handles and run the wheel along the floor. To use the machine, you lie on your front, putting your body weight on your toes and on your hands (holding onto the wheel). Now by contracting your abs you will pull the wheel towards you, and essentially do an upside down situp. When you release your abs, the wheel rolls away from you and you flatten out.

These machines can be tough to use - it takes a lot of balance and there is a distinct possibility of the wheel running away from you and you injuring yourself.

All in all, while ab exercise machines can be a bit of fun, they shouldn't replace a proper manual ab workout. All you need is a training mat, some floor space, some music if you want it, 30 minutes a day and a bit of elbow grease.

Toning Your Abs

If you are serious about toning your abs, you need to do a lot more than just a few sit ups every night. You need to focus on a lot more than just muscle development and weight loss if you want to achieve your goals. The first thing you need to do is educate yourself about what goes into the most effective ab workouts, and which workouts are simply a waste of time!

The first thing you need to know about toning your abs is that there is more than just one set of abdominal muscles that need to be worked on. In fact there are three, and each of them require equal amounts of attention or your entire workout plan can be rendered ineffective. The three muscle groups you need to concentrate are your rectus abdominis, your obliques and your transverse abdominus.

The rectus abdominis is the muscle group that is most commonly associated with the “six pack” although it is not the only one responsible for ripped abs. We’ll get to this part of toning your abs later, but first you need to concentrate on your transverse abdominis. This is the muscle that runs underneath your rectus abdominis and wraps around the lower part of your rib cage. Apart from protecting your internal organs, this muscle is responsible for both your core strength and your core stability.

This part of toning your abs is the most difficult, but is the most essential part of having a well developed abdomen. Doing deep breath-and-release exercises or water exercises are both good ways of developing your core abdominal muscles. Deep breathing exercises like the Vacuum are done by filling your lungs to capacity, then breathing out while sucking your stomach in. Hold at the point where you feel your muscles tighten for two to three seconds, then release. Do sets of eight if you can, and do them every day!

Training your obliques is something that a lot of people neglect, but they are one of the most important muscle groups if you are toning your abs to look good. Men’s Health Magazine asked women all over the world what the sexiest muscles on a man were, and the obliques came out top almost all over the world. To tone these muscles simply do bicycle twist crunches. Lie on your back in sit up position, clasping your hands behind your head. Bring one knee up to your chest, and contract your stomach muscles to lift your shoulder blades off the ground. Point your left elbow at your right knee, then do it the other way. Try to do six on each side per set if you are looking to lose weight.

When you are toning your abs, the rectus abdominus muscles are actually the easiest to work with. Performing three sets of the double vertical leg lift will give these muscles definition within a few weeks. Lie on your back and lift your legs 90 degrees to the ground. Cross your ankles, and clasp your hands behind your head. Now contract your stomach muscles to both lift your feet towards the ceiling and your shoulder blades off the ground. You should feel it start to burn all over your abdominal region.

This exercise is one of the most effective for toning your abs, especially if you want to lose weight in your belly area. Doing longer sets with shorter time intervals can really burn fat, and if you do three sets of these every night you should start to see positive results in as little as two weeks.

Tighter Abs – The Simple and Forgotten Stomach Vacuum!

I’m talking about the Transverse Abdominal Muscle. This is part of your midsection that runs horizontally across the abdominal wall underneath your internal and external oblique muscles. The TVS (Transverse Abdominis) muscle is responsible for pulling the abdominal wall inward and therefore forcing expiration.

The next important part of the Transverse Abdominal muscle is that it acts as a personal weight belt to stabilize your spine and pelvis region. The stronger your TV muscles are puts you at a much smaller risk of having lower back pain and will help you on heavy lifts such as squats.

Why else should I strengthen my Transverse Abdominis muscle?

Well, for the point of this article, Tighter Abs! When this muscle is stronger it holds everything else in. This can easily trim 2-4 inches off of your waistline in a matter of only 2-3 weeks.

How to train this muscle

The main exercise you must learn is called the Stomach Vacuum. To perform this you actually pull your belly button up and in toward your spine as far as you can go. While doing this don’t forget to breathe. This exercise can be done standing, laying on your back, laying on your stomach, seated or kneeling position.

Variations and Workouts

The basic workout calls for 3 sets holding in the full stomach vacuum for 20 seconds each set. Increase this up to 60 seconds as it strengthens.

The passive workout calls for tying a string around the midsection (right around the belly button) in a tighter almost full stomach vacuum position. You can leave this on anywhere from 10 minutes to all day. It serves as a constant reminder every time it tightens that you need to pull it back in.

Conclusion

Now that you know what to do there are no more excuses for the distended belly, you can do these exercises during work or sitting at a computer! Stay motivated and best of luck!
